The unique collaboration between Borussia Dortmund and the One Piece Card Game generated great excitement among football and anime fans alike in March 2025. Together with Toei Animation , BVB brought the globally popular anime franchise One Piece directly to SIGNAL IDUNA PARK – with a limited-edition Luffy promo card , fan activities, and an exclusive One Piece experience.

From March 24 to April 5, 2025, fans in the BVB Fan World could secure an exclusive One Piece x BVB promo card . The card featured Monkey D. Luffy in the iconic BVB jersey and was only available as part of this promotion—a real highlight for collectors of the One Piece Card Game and BVB fans alike.

Fans of Karim Adeyemi and Julian Brandt were particularly pleased: The two BVB players are avid One Piece fans and have previously celebrated goals with anime-inspired celebrations. The collaboration with One Piece was therefore a perfect fit – both athletically and culturally.

During the promotional period, visitors to the BVB Fan World were able to participate in free trials of the One Piece Card Game . These trials were organized by Bandai Card Games . Upon successful completion, participants received an exclusive One Piece promo card , which was particularly attractive to newcomers and collectors .
Registration for the sessions was required in advance; the participation fee was refunded upon completion. Booster packs of the One Piece TCG were also available for purchase on-site.
Matchday Special: One Piece Goodie Bags at the home game against Mainz
On March 30, 2025 , at the Bundesliga home game against 1. FSV Mainz 05 , fans experienced another surprise: BVB x One Piece goodie bags were distributed at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK. The exclusive bags contained a scarf , stickers , and—especially coveted—the Luffy Dortmund promo card .
